What size gi should I get for my child?
Kingz kids' gis run from M0000 to M4. Measure your child barefoot against a wall and check their weight: height sets sleeve and pant length, and weight tells you about build. Use the chart on each product page and our metric size guide.

Should I size up so the gi lasts longer?
Only a little. Buy the size that fits now, with a little room. A gi that is too big gets grabbed, twisted and tripped over. If your child is right between two sizes and growing fast, go up one.

Are Kingz kids' gis IBJJF legal?
The Kore V2 Youth, The ONE V2 Kids and Nano 3.0 Youth are listed as legal under the IBJJF's 2024 uniform rules. For competition, the gi must also be white, royal blue or black.

What is a good first gi for a child?
The Kore V2 Youth is our most affordable kids' gi and comes with a free white belt. The ONE V2 Kids steps up to a 400 GSM jacket (belt not included), and the Nano 3.0 Youth comes with a free gi bag. White is the most academy-friendly colour.

How do I wash a kids' gi?
After every class, in cold water, then hang it to dry. The Kore V2, The ONE V2 and Nano 3.0 youth gis are 95% pre-shrunk, so expect 3–5% shrinkage. Try the gi on before the first wash, because returns need unwashed gear.
