Just like being entirely a guard player or entirely a passer is rapidly becoming a thing of the past, so is not having any kind of takedown game. And it's not just for the competitors, either. There is an expectation that all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners be more well-rounded... both on the ground and on the feet. 

And while there is a vast universe of wrestling takedowns and judo throws - each with their own advantages and drawbacks -  not all of them are the best choice for your jiu-jitsu game. If you haven't spent your life in the wrestling room or the judo academy, you may feel a little overwhelmed.
